The Brief: Creating a Cozy Modern Family Home
When the Sharma family approached Khaka Interior with their 1500 sq. ft. flat in Ludhiana, they had a clear goal: they wanted a complete aesthetic transformation that felt premium, elegant, and durable, all within a strict budget of ₹14 Lakhs. The home was dated, had low natural light, and suffered from fragmented room allocations.
1. Maximizing Light in the Living Area
We knocked down a non-structural wall dividing the entry hallway and the main living room, creating an expansive open-concept living-dining area. We opted for a soft neutral beige and sand color scheme, matching it with light ash wood furniture to bounce sunlight into every corner of the room.
2. Crafting the High-Efficiency Kitchen
The kitchen was completely overhauled. We installed an L-shaped modular layout featuring anti-scratch acrylic finishes on upper cabinets and textured laminates on bottom drawers, paired with a durable white quartz countertop. To save space, we integrated tall pantry pull-out units and a built-in microwave slot.
"Our home has been completely reborn. The space feels twice as large and a hundred times more peaceful." — Mrs. Sharma, Homeowner.
